Palmajua is a hidden Himalayan village located at an altitude of 7300 ft. above sea level and about 130 km from Siliguri. This is a place for those, who seek for a place which offers peace and calm beautiful forested land and breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks.
It lies in the fringe of the well-known Singalila National Park which is the home to amazing animals like Red Panda, Pangolins and lot more, and close to 50 species of birds like Grey-headed Canary Flycatcher, Blue-capped Rock Thrush (female) Blue Whistling Thrush, yellow naped woodpecker.
This offbeat pristine destination comes in between Dhotrey and Srikhola, which are popular halt destinations amongst the trekkers returning from Sandakphu & Phalut. Most trekkers to Sandakphu and Phalut return via this route and generally halt at Srikhola and/or Dhotrey before proceeding to Manebhanjan. Obviously, mainstream tourists generally don’t ply on the trek routes and thus Palmajua is still a hidden gem.
