Two Thrilling Motorcycle Joint Ventures Mark Milestones.

Hero-Harley is ready to begin deliveries of their inaugural co-created premium motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson X440, starting on October 15th. In the meantime, TVS is about to produce its 150,000th unit of the BMW Motorrad 310cc series.

Hero MotoCorp reports an impressive 25,000 bookings for the Harley-Davidson X440, with the top-spec ‘S’ variant accounting for 65% of them. The motorcycle comes in three variants: Denim, Vivid, and S, with prices ranging from Rs 2.39 lakh to Rs 2.79 lakh.

Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp, commented, “As production runs smoothly at our Neemrana facility, a substantial number of our pre-booked customers have had the opportunity to test ride the motorcycle. We are fully prepared to bring joy to many during the festive season by commencing deliveries of the X440.”

Simultaneously, TVS CEO K.N. Radhakrishnan celebrated the production of the 150,000th unit of the Motorrad 310cc series at the Hosur facility. Radhakrishnan stated, “Through our collaborative efforts, we have introduced five products in the 310cc series. We have also commenced production of our first jointly designed, developed, and industrialized electric vehicle, the BMW CE 02.”

Markus Schramm, head of BMW Motorrad, emphasized, “Expanding our partnership to encompass sustainable mobility solutions represents a logical step in shaping the future together with TVS Motor.

Hero-Harley Partnership:

1. Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson announced a partnership in 2020 to jointly develop and sell premium motorcycles in the Indian market.
2. The collaboration aimed to leverage Hero’s manufacturing expertise and Harley-Davidson’s brand appeal to introduce new models in India.
3. The Harley-Davidson X440 was one of the anticipated models resulting from this partnership.

TVS-BMW Motorrad Collaboration:

1. TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad (the motorcycle division of BMW Group) formed a partnership in 2013 to co-develop and manufacture a series of premium motorcycles in India.
2. The TVS-BMW joint venture resulted in the production of several motorcycles, including the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS, which were sold in India and exported to international markets.
3. The partnership marked BMW Motorrad’s entry into the sub-500cc motorcycle segment and strengthened TVS’s presence in the premium motorcycle market.
